Congratulations! Let's make sure everything is in order for the big day.

1. Read all these steps first!

Because we are using physical distancing to help keep people safe, our process has changed.

Read the following instructions all the way through before you begin.

2. Attend pre-marital education (Optional)

Premarital education requirements

Parties must submit a signed, notarized, and dated educator's statement from the person who provided the premarital education.

The educator's statement must have specific wording and must be on their business letterhead stationery.

3. Complete and submit the online application

Use the Minnesota Official Marriage System (MOMS) to apply for a marriage license.

4. Both parties need to come to our office

Up to 90 days in advance, come to the office to sign the license application. (You both need to be present.)
